As part of the objective to model Brighton's most famous buildings, in 2015 Colin decided to model Brighton Pier.
After an attempt to find plans for the structure on line proved unsuccessful, Colin took photos from every angle. Additionally, a YouTube video of a drone journey along the length of the pier revealed the roof detail perfectly.
The finished model has 127,438 polygons and represents hundreds of man hours of work. There are 69 images applied to the polygons as textures which make the finished model realistic.
This model is a work in progress which Colin believes, one day, will be indistinguishable from the real thing in a high quality render.
